About the Role

Senior Underwriter / Senior Executive – New Business Underwriting

Assess and underwrite life and health insurance applications (new business and policy servicing) and decide if the risk can be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite life and health insurance applications (new business and policy servicing) and decide if the risk can be accepted
• Explain underwriting decisions and requirements to the sales channels
• Provide service support and liaison for the sales channels
• Assist the sales channels on their queries related to underwriting requirements and underwriting decision
• Liaise with reinsurers on complex cases or refer cases to reinsurer if sum at risk exceeds treaty limits
• Check and sign off underwriting requirement letters and special terms letters prior to release
• To be involved in ad hoc duties or projects related to underwriting

Qualifications

• At least a diploma or degree
• A degree in Insurance or Biomedical Science or Life Science would be an added advantage

Required Skills

• At least 5 years of experience in life and health underwriting
• Experience in Singapore life insurance market will be preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Committed, take ownership and results-driven
