Basic Function
Overall responsible for providing prompt and efficient maintenance and repair services to internal departments and external guests, offering reliable technical support and advice to ensure smooth and safe hotel operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out shift duties to ensure the smooth operation and overall performance of the hotel's building services.
- Attend to all assigned engineering, technical, maintenance, and repair requests from in-house guests, departments, offices, and hotel premises.
- Personally perform and/or closely monitor repair and replacement works for faulty equipment, lighting, appliances, and installations in accordance with best practices.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and job tasks, maintaining required quality and safety standards.
- Conduct daily inspections, checks, and logging of Building M&E plants and equipment.
- Carry out regular inspections of all building services, including fire alarm and protection systems, chiller systems, and other critical equipment.
- Ensure Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and corrective repair works are executed according to approved plans and standards.
- Adhere strictly to hotel safety standards and workshop practices when performing repair, maintenance, and retrofitting works involving electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life safety systems, emergency evacuation systems, and lift rescue operations.
- Provide immediate emergency response and technical support for all building services when required.
- Support the Fire Safety Manager in conducting the annual Fire Evacuation Drill for staff and guests.
- Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual systems for banquet and event functions in accordance with the Banquet Function Order (BFO).
- Guide, mentor, and oversee M&E Technicians during shifts, ensuring work is performed efficiently and safely.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management to support hotel operations.
Job Requirements
Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related engineering discipline.
At least 1-3 years of relevant working experience in hotel, hospitality, commercial building, or facilities maintenance environment.
Strong hands-on experience in M&E systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life safety systems, and basic HVAC operations.
Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance procedures.
Familiarity withworkplace safety practices, including fire safety, emergency response, and basic lift rescue operations.
Ability to perform shift duties, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Capable of responding promptly to emergency breakdowns and urgent maintenance situations.
Basic supervisory or mentoring experience is preferred, with the ability to guide junior technicians during shifts.
Able to communicate effectively with internal departments and guests in a professional manner.
This role involves hands-on technical work and requires the ability to perform essential physical tasks of the position.
Must be available to commence employment from March 2026 onwards.
