SENIOR TECHNICAL ARCHITECT

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Architect / Application Owner with strong expertise in Banking & Financial Services, specifically in Futures, Derivatives & Clearing (FDC) and Payments systems (SWIFT MT/MX and APAC Domestic Payments).

The ideal candidate will have proven leadership in enterprise platform modernization, real-time data integration, and cloud-native architecture, with successful delivery experience across global banking environments.

This role demands ownership of mission-critical applications, governance of end-to-end SDLC, regulatory-compliant delivery, and oversight of L3 production support across distributed teams in NAM, EMEA, and APAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, development, and delivery of mission-critical banking applications.

• Own business-critical platforms including application roadmap planning, governance, and lifecycle management.

• Provide oversight for L3 production support, ensuring stability, resiliency, and rapid incident resolution.

• Architect enterprise solutions leveraging:

  • Java, Spring Boot, Microservices

  • REST APIs, Kafka, RDBMS

• Design and implement real-time and batch-based data transformation pipelines, integrating upstream country processors with global FDC platforms.

• Implement and enhance payment gateway solutions supporting:

  • SWIFT MT/MX

  • APAC Domestic Payment Systems

• Drive large-scale modernization initiatives, migrating legacy infrastructure to:

  • OpenShift / Kubernetes container platforms

• Manage release cycles, change governance, and regulatory compliance controls.

• Oversee SIT, UAT, and Production deployments, ensuring quality and operational stability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and business teams across global regions (NAM, EMEA, APAC).

• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and quality standards using tools such as:

  • SonarQube, Checkmarx, Snyk, Blackduck, Greater Expectations (GE)

• Mentor engineering teams, driving Agile best practices and technical excellence.

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture

• Expertise in Kafka, REST APIs, Enterprise Integration Patterns

• Strong knowledge of RDBMS and transactional data systems

• Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes containerized deployments

• Proven ability in real-time data processing and transformation pipelines

Domain Expertise

• Deep understanding of Futures, Derivatives & Clearing systems

• Strong exposure to Payments processing ecosystems:

  • SWIFT MT/MX messaging

  • APAC domestic payment rails

Governance & Delivery

• Strong experience managing release governance, regulatory compliance, and audit controls

• Expertise in full SDLC delivery including SIT/UAT/Prod cutovers

• Production support ownership with strong operational discipline

Security & Quality

• Familiarity with enterprise security scanning and compliance tooling:

  • SonarQube, Checkmarx, Snyk, Blackduck, GE
