Senior / Staff Nurse (Pre-Anaesthesia Screening) HJO

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing procedures requiring anaesthesia.
• Review patients medical history, medication profiles, allergies and relevant investigation results.
• Identify potential perioperative and anaesthetic risks and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Provide pre-operative education, counselling and support to patients and their families.
• Review routine blood investigation results and identify critical values requiring escalation.
• Perform venepuncture and basic patient assessments, including monitoring and recording vital signs.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure nursing practices comply with established clinical protocols, infection control and patient safety standards.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognised nursing qualification.
• Relevant nursing experience in pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia, Operating Theatre, Specialist Outpatient Clinic, surgical or acute care settings will be an advantage.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide effective patient education.
