As an ICU Nurse, you will provide a high standard of care to a group of patients through assessment planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to meet the needs of the patient, including educating patients and families. Maintain the standards of professional nursing practice and work cohesively with other healthcare members to provide care that is holistic, integrated and cost-effective.
Responsibilities
Perform basic and complex nursing procedures and treatment to meet the general comfort and well being of the patient. Perform patient assessment and appropriate interventions for effective patient's outcome.
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior nurses in the delivery of safe and effective patient care, including infection control practices.
Utilise clinical judgement, critical thinking and problem solving skills in the delivery of patient care and assist in development of clinical policies and procedures.
Demonstrate expertise in advanced clinical skills and knowledge such as performing intravenous cannulation, venepuncture, administration of medication, ECG monitoring and interpretation, assist in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and blood culture sampling.
Act as a liaison between patients and families and provide patient education and participate in patient's rehabilitation, discharge planning and involving the patient's family as necessary.
Maintain proper and accurate documentation of patient's progress and management rendered in the notes, medication records and charts.
Assist Specialist during treatment/ procedures and examination of patients.
Follow through with doctor's order and report promptly any changes in patient's condition to the appropriate doctor.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by on-site supervisors.
Requirements
Registered Nurse and valid practicing licensed issued by the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
Possess minimally a Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing granted by an accredited School of Nursing
Advanced Diploma in Critical Care or relevant discipline
Must possess a minimum of 5 years direct relevant working experience in acute hospital ICU settings
Valid Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work 3 rotating shifts and weekends on a scheduled roster
