Job Summary:
The Senior Sourcing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the strategic sourcing and procurement activities within the Asia Pacific region. The role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing strategic supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective procurement processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align strategic sourcing strategies with regional objectives.
He/She will support the APAC President and other senior stakeholders through provision of accurate and timely information. Able to make considered recommendations to support critical sourcing decision making.
In addition, the role will also be responsible for leading and managing the region's product localisation initiative and make recommendations on optimising the products supply chain.
The position will be based in Singapore (Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park) and requires frequent regional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and manage sourcing & procurement frameworks, policies, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with group and industry standards and legal requirement.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Analyse procurement costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenditure through consolidating regional orders.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement processes and supplier relationships.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on sourcing strategies and requirements.
Product Localisations:
- Review & analyse products demand across the region and make recommendations towards regional in-sourcing of products manufacturing
- Collaborate with SCM and Sales teams to ensure optimal supply chain routes aligned with regional strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain Management, relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with exposures in product management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in analysis and strategic planning.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative thinking to develop innovative sourcing strategies.
- .Manufacturing and operations experience within plastic injection moulding industry is advantageous
