Across Asia Pacific, companies are investing in cloud, data, and AI while navigating very different levels of data maturity, regulatory requirements, and deployment preferences. RisingWave gives them a simpler way to power fraud detection, real-time analytics, personalization, operational intelligence, and AI applications without assembling and operating a complex streaming stack.
We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to become a trusted technical leader for customers, partners, and our go-to-market team across the region.
Why This Role Is Different

- Hybrid flexibility. The role combines focused remote work with purposeful time in the Singapore office, at customer sites, and with the regional team. The exact arrangement follows local company policy and business needs.
- Real systems, not demo-only work. You will solve production challenges involving high-volume CDC, streaming joins, low-latency serving, lakehouse integration, reliability, and cost.
- End-to-end technical ownership. You will stay close to the customer from discovery and technical validation through production rollout and expansion.
- A direct line to the product. You will work closely with Product and Engineering, turning patterns from the field into roadmap input, reference architectures, and better product experiences.
- Room to grow with the region. As the APAC business expands, this role can grow into broader regional technical leadership.
What You'll Do
Win the Right Workloads
- Partner with Account Executives to uncover the business problem behind the technical request and identify where RisingWave can create measurable value.
- Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery, solution design, PoCs/PoVs, benchmarks, security reviews, RFPs, and executive readouts.
- Design scalable, low-latency architectures connecting RisingWave with Kafka or Pulsar, operational databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses, lakehouses, and serving systems.
- Translate latency, throughput, resilience, compliance, and cost requirements into a clear architecture and success plan.
- Communicate with equal credibility in an engineering deep dive and a CTO or business stakeholder conversation.
Take Customers from Validation to Value
- Guide technical onboarding and production rollout, including deployment architecture, migration and cutover planning, capacity modeling, and performance tuning.
- Advise on streaming SQL, data modeling, CDC, schema evolution, partitioning, observability, and operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot complex pipelines end to end and coordinate with Product and Engineering when deeper product expertise is needed.
- Remain the customer's technical advocate as workloads expand and new use cases emerge.
Build for Asia Pacific
- Design for the realities of a diverse region: public cloud, BYOC and private deployments; data residency and financial-services requirements; different languages, time zones, and levels of data maturity.
- Create reusable demos, discovery guides, PoC patterns, and reference architectures for fintech, commerce, gaming, manufacturing, digital-native, and AI use cases.
- Enable cloud, technology, and systems-integration partners and support joint customer pursuits.
- Represent RisingWave at technical workshops, webinars, meetups, and industry events across the region.
What Success Looks Like
- Establish trusted relationships with priority customers and partners across Asia Pacific.
- Move qualified workloads from discovery through technical validation and into production.
- Build repeatable regional playbooks that make future evaluations and deployments faster and more predictable.
- Give Product and Engineering a clear, evidence-based view of APAC customer needs and competitive patterns.
- Become a visible technical voice for RisingWave in the regional data community.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting, Customer Engineering, or a similarly customer-facing technical role.
- Hands-on experience with streaming, distributed data systems, event-driven architecture, or modern data infrastructure. Experience with Kafka or Pulsar and a stream-processing framework is especially useful.
- Strong SQL and working proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, Go, or Bash.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform, including networking, security, reliability, and cost fundamentals.
- A consultative approach: you can ask sharp questions, simplify complexity, and connect technical choices to business outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal English, with the cross-cultural awareness to work effectively across Asia Pacific.
- Comfort operating with autonomy in an early-stage regional environment and willingness to travel for customer and partner engagements.
You do not need to match every line. Streaming-specific presales talent is rare. If you are a strong data, database, cloud, or distributed-systems architect who enjoys customer work and wants to go deep on streaming, we would like to hear from you.
Bonus Points
- Experience with fintech, payments, commerce, gaming, manufacturing, or high-growth digital-native companies in Asia Pacific.
- Familiarity with CDC tools such as Debezium or Kafka Connect and formats such as Avro, Protobuf, or JSON.
- Experience with Apache Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, or another streaming system.
- Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, modern lakehouse architectures, real-time AI/ML feature pipelines, or agentic AI infrastructure.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Business-development instinct: you have helped shape or create opportunities, not only responded to them.
- Open-source contributions, technical writing, conference speaking, or additional languages relevant to APAC markets.

You will join at an early stage of RisingWave's Asia Pacific growth and help build the technical foundation for the region. The role offers an unusual combination of deep data-infrastructure work, customer and commercial ownership, public technical visibility, and direct product influence.
