About the Role
Senior Solution Architect - Digital Transformation (Banking and Financial Services) with around 25 years of experience to support our digital transformation practice.
We are seeking a hands on Senior Architect to lead the evolution of our technical services landscape. You will be the bridge between complex technical requirements and technical execution, ensuring that the client's digital evolution is scalable, stable, secure, and future-proof and lead our clients towards cutting-edge digital transformation. Your mission is to design, develop and / or support a high-performance ecosystem that integrates legacy Core Banking Systems with modern Digital Channels, robust Hybrid Infrastructure, and transformative AI Solutions.
You are expected to be a practitioner and trusted advisor to CIOs and IT Teams shaping and delivering large-scale transformation programs across core banking, digital channels, and various end-to-end customer journeys-initiatives that make a real difference to business performance, resilience, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Solution Architect is expected to work with client IT teams in any of the following areas:
- Architectural Strategy & Design: Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of mission-critical banking systems, including Core Banking, Digital Platforms and Payment gateways via high performance APIs and Microservices. Define High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) that align with enterprise standards.
- Define the roadmap for banking hardware and software environments, balancing the need for on-premise requirements with the flexibility offered by public cloud environments
- Help architect systems for disaster recovery, high-availability and data integrity protocols for mission-critical banking operations.
- Modernization & Cloud Transformation: Help drive the migration of legacy monolithic systems to cloud-native, microservices-based architectures optimized for high availability and elastic scalability.
- Security & Compliance Governance: Help embed Security by Design into every layer. Ensure all solutions comply with global and local financial regulations and internal standards.
- API & Integration Leadership: Help design robust API-first strategies and event-driven architectures to facilitate seamless integration between internal systems and third-party FinTech ecosystems.
- AI & Innovation Integration: Spearhead the integration of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) into banking workflows for various use cases
- Technical Governance & Mentorship: Help review code and designs from delivery teams, providing technical mentorship to junior architects and developers to ensure quality and consistency.
- Stakeholder Management: Translate complex technical concepts into business value for C-suite executives and product owners, balancing immediate project timelines with long-term strategic roadmaps.
Required Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate is hands on and combines deep technical mastery with an intimate understanding of the financial services business and regulatory environment.
Experience
- Professional Tenure: Around 25 years in software engineering and systems design, with at least 10-15 years specifically as a Solution Architect in a regulated banking or FinTech environment.
- Domain Expertise: Proven implementation track record in one or more banking domains: Core Banking, Digital Platforms, Retail/Commercial Lending, Wealth Management, Real-time Payments, including New Implementations and Modernization. Experience in leading end to end technical implementation of customer journeys.
- Large-Scale Delivery: Experience leading the architecture for multi-country, high-volume transformation programs impacting tens of millions of users.
- Ability to identify root causes across the technology stack and guide IT Teams and Vendors for addressing issues impacting system availability, scalability, stability and security.
Technical Skills
- Architectural Patterns: Mastery of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and Serverless patterns.
- Cloud & DevSecOps: Expert proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/OpenShift), Docker, and CI/CD automation. Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Data & Integration: Expertise in relational and distributed databases and integration protocols (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, Kafka).
- Security Frameworks: Strong knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, Zero Trust Architecture, and OWASP Top 10.
Soft Skills & Certifications
- Ability to work in a start up environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Communication: Exceptional ability to influence cross-functional teams and facilitate workshops between business and IT.
- Problem Solving: A systems-thinking mindset capable of identifying issues, risks and dependencies in complex, multi-vendor environments.
- Certifications (Preferred): + Cloud (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert). + Methodology (TOGAF 9.x/10, SAFE Agilist). + Security (CISSP or CCSP).
