Job Description

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 8 years of experience with software development.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with working in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience with robotics or on-device development.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) or machine learning systems.
  • Ability to anticipate and manage tests and obstacles and navigate technical and product issues.

As the Senior Manager of Software Engineering for Robotic Test Automation, you will build and lead a team of engineers that are responsible for developing end-to-end testing solutions using humanoid robots powered by advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will revolutionize software testing by creating agents capable of physically interacting with devices (e.g., touchscreens, buttons, hardware interfaces) just as a human would, validating user experiences and running exploratory tests.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on developing end-to-end testing solutions utilizing humanoid robots powered by advanced AI.
  • Establish the technical strategy roadmap to achieve the goal, evolve the roadmap based on future test requirements.
  • Define and articulate team priorities aligned with the organization's goals, ensuring process, and decision-making alignment across teams.
  • Work with multiple test teams to identify prime candidates for robotic test systems and deliver solutions that enhance test efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the Google Deepmind (GDM) Robotic team to develop robotics test agents and advance innovation in software testing and serve as the link connecting hardware, embedded software, and the advanced Gemini Robotics agentic models to construct integrated robotic test systems.
