The Senior Software Engineer - QA is responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining quality assurance processes, test strategies, and validation activities aligned with business and operational requirements. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, optimize testing efficiency, and support enterprise application quality initiatives. This role provides technical leadership across QA projects, contributes to test strategy discussions, supports complex troubleshooting efforts, and promotes quality assurance best practices across the software development lifecycle. The Senior Software Engineer - QA contributes to improving application stability, operational efficiency, testing coverage, and overall solution quality through effective test execution and continuous process improvement.

Role
- Analyse business requirements, technical specifications, and architecture documents to define comprehensive test strategies.
- Design and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for functional and non-functional testing.
- Lead end-to-end testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, system, API, database, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and reusable automation frameworks.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured and validate backend integrations.
- Execute database validation using SQL and ensure data integrity.
- Review test cases and automation scripts prepared by team members to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
- Identify, prioritise, and manage defects through to resolution while working closely with development teams.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Prepare and present test execution reports, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments to stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in testing methodologies, automation, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvements in QA processes, automation coverage, and testing efficiency.
- Support production validation, defect triage, and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Evaluate and recommend new QA tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve quality engineering practices.
