Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with business users, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders, assuming responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, system enhancements, and initiatives in accordance with established timelines and quality standards.

• Responsible in conducting impact assessments, system design, development, testing, implementation, and post-deployment verification.
• Design and develop solutions based on user requirements, ensuring adherence to mutually agreed timelines, quality benchmarks, and performance standards.
• Analyze both functional and technical solution requirements, contributing to the creation of comprehensive functional and technical specifications.
• Provide ongoing system enhancement and support for the Life Asia and LIS Policy Administration System, including online functionality and batch-processing operations, with the ability to deliver tasks independently.
• Maintain software configuration items such as source code, documentation and ensure traceability from development to production. Conduct source-code reviews and manage code merges while ensuring compliance with coding standards, software-quality requirements, and security best practices.
• Collaborate regularly with business users, business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding SIT, UAT, production support, user queries, and database-related issues.
• Responsible in the planning and execution of daily and monthly batch job processing to meet defined system SLAs.
• Analyze server logs and perform effective troubleshooting as needed.
• degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Insurance, or a related area is preferred.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience is required.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting LifeAsia and LIS systems
• Proficiency in SMART/400, COBOL/400, CL/400, AS400 Query, and batch-job automation tools such as ROBOT.
• Experience with integration and development involving MQ and Web APIs.
• Capable of thriving in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience within the insurance industry is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills
