about the role

The Staff Bioinformatics Scientist will drive the development of secondary analysis algorithms for variant and biomarker detection, primarily to support treatment decisions based on a cancer's molecular profile. You'll be involved in designing R&D studies with external collaborators to demonstrate the clinical utility of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) in oncology treatment and prototyping software implementations. The role involves assessing and improving existing algorithms, prototyping novel ones , and providing technical guidance to collaborators.

skills and experience

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, math, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Fluency in at least two of the following: statistics, common bioinformatics methods, NGS analysis, and oncology.
• Proven experience developing bioinformatics NGS algorithms and methodology.
• Fluency in programming languages such as Python is required, with experience in C++ being desired.
• Good communication skills to contribute to cross-functional project teams and work with stakeholders.
• Must have a background in algorithm development, biomarkers, and oncology.
