About the Position

As one of the first hires in our Singapore Intelligence Hub, you will shape how scientific intelligence is structured, built, and delivered across Angelini Ventures. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role for someone who combines deep scientific understanding with the ability to build - turning complex biology, genomics, and clinical evidence into working tools and decision-ready insight for our global investment team and portfolio companies.

You will have direct exposure to investment decisions, portfolio companies, and our global team from day one. You will define the methods, choose the tools, and build the intelligence products that become core to how the firm evaluates scientific and clinical opportunity. As the Hub grows, this role is the natural foundation for leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Scientific & Clinical Intelligence: Conduct deep, first-principles evaluation of scientific and clinical evidence across therapeutic areas, synthesizing data from genomic databases, clinical trial registries, patent landscapes, scientific literature, and real-world evidence sources into clear, actionable insight.
• Intelligence Product Development: Conceptualize, prototype, and iterate on proprietary intelligence tools - from disease-landscape navigators to modality assessment dashboards -taking ideas from concept through user validation to deployment using agentic AI, AI-assisted coding platforms, and programmatic approaches.
• Proprietary Frameworks & Analytics: Design and develop repeatable analytical frameworks that apply data and AI capabilities to build differentiated diligence and monitoring assets, ensuring outputs meet a high bar for scientific rigor and commercial relevance.
• Project Delivery: Take specific projects - disease-landscape mapping, technology or modality assessments, competitive intelligence - from scoping through to board-ready deliverables, with real latitude in how the work is shaped.
• Diligence & Portfolio Support: Partner directly with the global investment team to evaluate the scientific and clinical viability of prospective investments, and support portfolio companies with data-driven scientific insight.
• Singapore Ecosystem Engagement: Support relationships with startups, accelerators, and research institutions in Singapore, contributing scientific and clinical perspective to ecosystem and Espresso Lab activities.

Required Qualifications

• BSc or higher in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Systems Biology, Cancer Biology, Immunology, or a related quantitative life sciences discipline. Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) is a plus but depth of practical experience building analytical tools and working with scientific data is valued equally.
• Direct hands-on experience with agentic AI, AI-assisted coding platforms, and LLM-based workflows to build, test, and iterate on functional tools and applications. You should be as comfortable prototyping a working product as writing an analysis.
• 5+ years of experience spanning scientific research, clinical/translational science, and data or analytics delivery.
• Demonstrated experience building analytical pipelines, tools, or applications that integrate multi-modal biological data (e.g., genomic datasets, clinical trial data, scientific literature, patent databases).
• Familiarity with bioinformatics databases and APIs (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, OMIM, UniProt, genomic repositories).
• Ability to translate complex scientific and clinical findings into strategic, business-relevant insight for non-scientific stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce crisp, executive-ready summaries and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in consulting, biotech, healthtech, or venture capital.
• Familiarity with AI governance, evaluating AI/data use cases in healthcare or life sciences contexts.
• Understanding of, or strong interest in, the Singapore and broader Asian life sciences ecosystem.
• A genuine, visible passion for science and a drive to go deep on underlying biology or technology.
