Job Description

The Perse School (Singapore) is a new British international school committed to providing an outstanding education that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth and the holistic development of each individual. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior School Assistant Head for Pastoral, Wellbeing and Inclusion to join our leadership team. This key role will oversee the pastoral care provision across the senior school, ensuring every student feels supported, and valued in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.
Position: Senior School Assistant Head - Pastoral, Wellbeing and Inclusion
Location: Singapore
Curriculum: United Kingdom (British Curriculum)
Education Stage: High/Secondary School
Position Type: Head of Pastoral Care
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of pastoral care strategies that promote student wellbeing and inclusion.
  • Oversee support systems for students providing emotional guidance counseling and academic learning support.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to foster positive behaviour management practices. an restorative practices
  • Work closely with parents, external agencies, and internal teams to ensure comprehensive support for all students.
  • Champion inclusive education policies that celebrate diversity within the school community.
  • Monitor safeguarding procedures in line with UK and international standards as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in the Senior School.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required relevant postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pastoral leadership or related roles within secondary/high schools following the UK curriculum.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build trusting relationships among students, staff, parents, and external partners.
  • Proven leadership capabilities including managing teams effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to analyse data related to wellbeing outcomes for continuous improvement.
