The School of Materials Science & Engineering isseekingto hire a Senior Research Fellow to undertake responsibilities in the design, synthesize, activation and characterize the porous polymer microspheres. This project will involve designing of upscaling processes including working with collaborators in doing the LCA for the scale up process. The project would involve a great deal of upscaling development and working with clinicians also on the testing of these materials. This candidate will be expected to work in a team consisting of chemist,biologistsand material scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced characterization onporous particles including SEM/BET/etc.

• Develop workflow forscalingup of processes.

• Develop methodologies to conductin-depth structural and functionalstudies and improve instrumentation setup.

• Writereports.

• Collaborate with internal and externalstakeholderonthe area of development and understanding LCA and planning for clinical studies.

• Mentoringinterns,undergraduatesand postgraduate students

• Assistin grant writing.

• Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.

• Produce high quality reports and documents thatconsolidateresearch findings.

Job Requirement:

• PhDdegree in Materials Science,Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or relevantfield.

• Experiencemorphological/structuraltechniques formaterialscharacterization.

• Experience in characterization techniques such as electron microscopy,NMR, BET,etc, will be an advantage.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives.

• Good communicationandwrittenskills.

• Responsible and passionate self-starter.
