JOB PURPOSE
Woodlands Health (WH) envisions personalised and quality healthcare for the community of the future. It will co-develop and integrate services with community stakeholders and extend care beyond the hospital into the community and homes.
The Senior Radiographer is to perform all general and certain specialized radiographic examinations, such as ultrasound, and other imaging modalities of diagnostic quality, with due regard to patient care, clinical responsibility, radiation protection and effective use technology. The Senior Radiographer will also have supervisory duties of a section or special modality.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific
i. In addition to the duties of the Radiographer(AH12), he/she will have increased involvement in the more specialised and complicated investigations. He/she will assist in managing the routine affairs of the Department.
a. Responsible for Quality Control programmes and maintenance of Radiographic equipment and accessories in various sections.
b. Supervises and deploys staff appropriately to various sections for operations, education and training needs.
c. Problem-solving within Department of Diagnostic Radiology with regards to radiographic issues.
d. Assists in handling patients queries and feedback on Radiological services rendered by the Department.
e. Coordinates with relevant healthcare colleagues on scheduling of patients and expediting reports for urgent Radiological examinations.
f. Assists or lead in on-going work improvement projects within the Department.
g. Assists in internal and/or external audits.
General
i. Provides support to junior radiographer(s) and supervisee(s).
ii. Presents at either internal and external continual education development activities or events.
iii. Contributes actively with new initiatives to improve radiographic standards and delivery of radiological services.
iv. Any other duties assigned by supervisor(s).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Training / Experience
i. Recognised Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
ii. Competent in diagnostic radiography and conversant in radiographic processing, quality control, and troubleshooting of Radiographic equipment.
iii. Minimum of 4-6 years experience in diagnostic radiology in acute hospital setting.
iv. Clinically competent in advanced modalities with evidence of existing On- job-training
v. Additional experience and/or qualifications in management/clinical supervision and education/research/informatics are an advantage
Professional License
i. Radiation Licences under Radiation Protection Act (Chapter 262)
ii. Allied Health Professional Council Practising Certificate

Others
i. Abnormal Working Conditions
a. Ionising radiation hazards, physical lifting of patients, heavy mobile equipment and others (pertaining to hospital environment).
