Position Overview:
The Senior R&D Engineer plays a key technical leadership role in the design, development, and optimization of advanced plasma lighting systems. This position is responsible for architecting high-performance electronic subsystems, including power supplies, RF drivers, control circuitry, and monitoring electronics to enable stable, efficient plasma generation and long-life lighting performance.
Job Description:
- Design, develop, and optimize high-voltage and RF power electronics used for plasma ignition, sustainment, and modulation.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, PCB layouts, block diagrams, and system architecture for plasma lighting drivers and control circuits.
- Provide technical support to the plasma lighting Test & Maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with process engineering and production teams to improve productivity.
- Support QA in conducting failure analysis.
- Design and develop NPI (New Product Introduction) products for global customers.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. An advanced degree is an advantage.
- At least 5 to10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power electronics, RF systems, or high-voltage design.
- Direct experience with plasma lighting, gas discharge systems, RF-driven lamps, or related plasma technologies is preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for plasma arc lighting devices.
- Experience in power electronics and control circuit design.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in lighting systems.
- Willingness to travel regularly (e.g., weekly) to Batam to oversee production activities and support NPI projects.
