The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for all quantity surveying functions, contract administration, and commercial aspects on construction projects. This includes ensuring the timely and accurate submission of payment claims, variations, loss & expense, and other contractual documentation in accordance with the contract's requirements and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret contract agreements, specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
- Take off quantities, prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), call for quotations, and prepare offers.
- Submit payment claims with supporting documents liaise with the construction team for accurate work progress to support monthly claims.
- Prepare payment recommendations and calculate quantities for contractor, subcontractor, and vendor payments.
- Prepare detailed pricing breakdowns identify, value, and substantiate variations and loss & expense claims prepare documentation for final account submissions.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with Clients, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
- Attend site meetings and conduct regular site visits as required.
- Assist in the preparation, submission, and management of extension of time (EOT) notices and applications.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Reporting Manager or Project-in-Charge.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the construction industry. Experience with large infrastructure or LTA projects will be an advantage.
- Highly responsible, positive work attitude, able to work independently, meticulous, with strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Candidates with less experience or qualifications may be considered for the Quantity Surveyor position.
