Role Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, budgeting, and contract administration for our construction and fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring cost efficiency and project profitability from tender to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender submissions
- Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Monitor project budgets and advise on cost control strategies
- Prepare progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts
- Review contract terms and ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines
- Conduct site measurements and valuations when required
- Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors on commercial matters
- Support procurement by sourcing materials and negotiating prices
- Assist in the preparation of monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction or metal works (roofing, decking, or structural steel preferred)
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and measurement software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam)
- Knowledge of local construction contracts (SIA, REDAS, or PSSCOC) is an advantage
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Fluent in English bilingual in Mandarin or Malay is an added advantage. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin/Malay to effectively communicate with Mandarin/Malay-speaking clients.
