Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Responsibilities

• Manage post-contract cost control and commercial administration for construction projects.

• Monitor project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow to ensure costs remain within approved limits.

• Administer contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

• Manage and evaluate contract variations arising from design changes or site conditions.

• Assess, prepare, and negotiate Variation Orders (VOs) with subcontractors and consultants.

• Conduct interim valuations and certify progress claims for subcontractors and suppliers.

• Evaluate and verify invoices and payment claims prior to approval.

• Prepare cost reports and commercial updates for management and project teams.

• Prepare, negotiate, and finalize final accounts with subcontractors and clients.

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to assess cost and time impact of changes.

• Manage and resolve contractual issues, claims, and disputes related to cost, delays, or scope changes.

• Participate in post-contract negotiations and settlement of claims, protecting the company's commercial interests.

• Provide guidance and supervision to junior quantity surveyors and support their development.

Job Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying/Building or equivalent.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the building construction industry in Singapore, preferably with a Main Contractor.

• Experience in HDB Project is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of contract administration and post-contract cost control.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel experience with project management or QS software is an advantage.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
