Job Summary

Support cost consultancy and project development by preparing cost plans, managing tender processes, evaluating contracts, and advising clients on procurement strategies across all project stages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost plans by accurately taking off quantities and pricing for projects
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers, and owners to update and adjust cost plans based on project changes
• Advise clients on effective procurement strategies to optimize project outcomes
• Support contractor pre-qualification and evaluation processes to ensure suitable contractor selection
• Assist in preparing tender documents, including compiling Bills of Quantities, Schedule of Works, and Schedule of Rates
• Manage the tender process by comparing tender returns and supporting client negotiations with contractors and subcontractors
• Evaluate and administer contracts on behalf of clients, including contract valuations, variations, and final accounts
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, design consultants, and contractors to facilitate project success
• Certify final payment claims and prepare comprehensive cost reports for client approval and project closure
• Provide cost advisory support throughout all project stages, from feasibility studies to final account settlement
• Manage workload effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and high client expectations
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and development services

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience in QS/Cost Consultancy roles
• Experience in both pre-construction and construction phases of projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to various technology platforms used in project delivery
• Strong communication skills to clearly convey information and collaborate across teams
• Negotiation skills to support pricing discussions with contractors and subcontractors
• Analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess project costs and procurement options
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost plans, tender documents, and contract administration
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
