Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost-related aspects of construction projects. From initial estimates to final accounts, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is financially viable, cost-effective, and completed within budget, while maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor expenditures and cash flows to ensure alignment with budget forecasts.
- Advise on potential cost variations and recommend cost-saving strategies.
2. Tendering and Contracts:
- Prepare tender documentation and bills of quantities.
- Evaluate and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Assist in contract negotiations and administration.
3. Cost Control:
- Track and control project costs against planned budgets.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
- Identify and manage cost overruns and variances.
4. Quantity Take-off:
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Update cost estimates based on design changes and construction progress.
5. Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support the project team in managing variations and claims.
6. Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure all project cost management practices comply with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation to support cost analysis and audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the built environment or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methods.
- Proficient in quantity surveying tools and software (e.g., CostX, Cubicost, Bluebeam, MS Excel).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
