Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and build computer software and specialized utility applications.

• Analyze user and business requirements, translating them into effective software solutions using computer science principles.

• Work closely with business analysts and development teams to clarify, validate, and understand system requirements.

• Design and develop test code integrated into modern CI/CD pipelines.

• Define and implement robust quality assurance strategies, frameworks, and standards.

• Create detailed test plans and test cases based on requirements and design specifications, with a strong focus on test automation and reusability.

• Execute various testing types, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. Identify root causes of defects and provide actionable recommendations.

• Advocate and apply best-practice testing methodologies to detect and resolve issues early in the development lifecycle.

• Provide technical support to internal teams by troubleshooting system issues, recommending solutions, and contributing to system and data analysis.

• Maintain thorough documentation of all testing activities, including test results, defects, and observations, and produce clear reports for management and delivery teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in relevant software development and testing activities.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or a related discipline.

• Strong experience with test automation frameworks and libraries.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell scripting, and PowerShell.

• Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms and related services.

• Solid understanding of QA design methodologies and best practices.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, particularly Java.

• Experience in load, performance, API, microservices testing, and GUI test automation.

• Practical knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Cypress, and Cucumber.

• Experience with relational databases including MySQL, SQL Server, and Sybase.

• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Domain-Driven Design and microservices architecture using Spring Boot.

• Exposure to Capital Markets or financial services applications.
