Overview
We are looking for a Technical Test Engineer (Interfaces) to support testing activities for a large-scale financial payment platform initiative. The role focuses on validating system integrations and interfaces, ensuring that application behaviour aligns with technical and functional requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, performing integration and system testing, and supporting defect management throughout the testing lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test cases and test scenarios based on both technical and functional specifications.
- Conduct integration testing and system testing to validate application behaviour against defined change requirements.
- Perform manual testing activities, including exploratory testing and participation in user acceptance testing when required.
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution, ensuring proper communication and collaboration with development teams.
- Work closely with test automation engineers to identify test cases suitable for automation and improve overall testing efficiency.
- Understand and execute business scenarios and test cases to validate system functionality and integration workflows.
- Support overall testing lifecycle activities, including test preparation, execution, defect management, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or system testing.
- Experience in integration testing and interface testing, particularly for complex systems or platforms.
- Good understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and testing best practices.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM, or similar).
- Familiarity with API testing, interface validation, or message-based integrations is good to have.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, automation engineers, and business stakeholders.
