Job Description

The Company is an owner-operator and ship manager of offshore support vessels for the offshore marine oil and gas sector. Also provide ship management services which include repair and maintenance, crew management, operations safety, purchasing and procurement and marketing chartering and rental of equipment.

JOB SUMMARY
Handle purchases and monitor purchasing support to vessel operations that require purchasing stores, spares, provisions, and project-specific items. Responsible for the procurement, sourcing and negotiation of the best prices and quality of stores & spares for the Company's designated fleet of vessels

Ensure purchases are:-

. Compliance with specifications requirement
. Timely procurement and value money
. Compliance with procedures

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide clear procedures for procuring products and/or services pertaining to energy, health, safe and environment.
  • Inform vendors of the company's commitment in green purchases.
  • Assess new suppliers, evaluate new suppliers, and monitor and re-evaluate approved suppliers performance.
  • Approve and award contracts and not limited to suppliers for stores (in Singapore), charts and publication, lubricants, paints, gases, and chemical
  • Set, and implement the process/procedure and monitor the department's improvement objectives and KPIs.
  • Shall ensure that personnel performing the task for the Company or on behalf of the Company (Vendor, suppliers, contractors, temporary staff) that have a potential to cause a significant environmental impact as identified by the Company are competent based on appropriate education, training or experience and maintain all the associated records.
  • To participate in cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and promote same within department staff on cost-efficient advantages, i.e., cost-conscious and looking out for potential waste.
  • Review and recommend purchasing practices for continual improvement of purchasing performance.
  • Prepare to budget for purchasing to ensure and maintain department expenses are within budget
  • Promote inter-department communication to create the best value for the organization
  • Monitor and ensure receiving of purchases orders on board vessel.
  • Source for supply, price, delivery time, and negotiations for best terms.
  • To keep updated on products, market practices, and prices
  • To review and recommend purchasing and procedures to improve purchasing performance .
  • Conduct annual evaluation audit/assessment of the vendor/supplier as per schedule .
  • Prepare the budget for purchasing to ensure and maintain department expenses are within budget.
  • To provide backup service during staff's absence to ensure all department and vessel operations are continued with minimum interruption.
  • Undertake any other Adhoc duties/projects as assigned by Management/Company.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in Marine/Offshore industry preferred
  • Strong organisational, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently & detailed oriented
  • Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Bachelor in related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years experience
