RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Psychologist provides psychological assessments and interventions for clients within multi-disciplinary settings and manages complex cases with medico-legal and forensic implications. S/He complements services provided by other professionals and ensures psychological services are delivered in accordance to organisational standards. An independent professional with excellent collaborative skills, S/He provides supervision for junior psychologists and conducts trainings for other professionals and also collaborates with other professionals in the course of his work.
Conduct psychological assessments
- Conduct psychological assessments to formulate evidence-based and data-driven hypotheses for challenging cases including medico-legal and/or forensic cases.
- Manage challenging cases and prepare assessment reports.
- Identify gaps in assessment tools in relation to application in local contexts and determine possible contextualisation.
- Deliver case presentations during multi-disciplinary team discussions.
Deliver interventions
- Formulate evidence-based and data-driven intervention plans in collaboration with relevant parties including medico-legal and/or forensic cases.
- Deliver interventions, psychological programmes and services.
Build stakeholder relationships or capacity
- Provide psychological expertise to other specialised departments and relevant professionals.
- Collaborate with social and healthcare sector professionals to deliver and improve client care and services.
Maintain professional, legal and ethical standards
- Assist in the implementation of professional standards in clinical, legal and ethical practices within departments.
- Monitor staff adherence to policies and procedures for professional practices.
- Assist in development of quality improvement projects to improve client care and services.
Uplift professional practice in psychology
- Deliver training programmes, lectures or workshops to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Review models of care and service delivery based on evidence-based practices.
- Conduct research, data collection and analyses.
- Provide supervision to entry-level psychologists, students in Masters and Doctorate programmes and interns.
- Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology or Educational Psychology or Applied Psychology.
- At least 5 years of experience as a psychologist.
- Knowledge or expertise in disability or related fields.
- Registration with Singapore Psychological Society(SPS) and Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP).
