Senior / Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering medium-scale IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality outcomes within defined scope, timeline, and budget. This role oversees daily project execution, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and compliance with organizational processes and standards while ensuring customer requirements are fully met. You will lead cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver IT initiatives while managing risks, resources, stakeholders, and project governance to ensure successful project outcomes.

What will you do

Project Planning & Governance

• Analyse and document business and technical requirements by liaising with users and managers

• Establish and prepare project plans, milestones, deliverables, and risk management plans

• Define and manage project scope, including change control mechanisms

• Monitor project activities and critical path to ensure timely delivery and adjust schedules when necessary

• Review project documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards

• Conduct post-implementation evaluations

Project Execution & Delivery Management

• Manage daily project implementation including schedules, budget, manpower, and quality

• Manage integration of hardware, software, applications, testing, business processes, and data conversion

• Plan, track, and monitor tasks assigned to team members

• Delegate tasks effectively with clear instructions and goals

• Manage resources including hardware, software, personnel, and logistics to ensure budget adherence

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Escalate and discuss project overruns, scope creep, integration issues, and resource needs with leadership

• Negotiate with vendors and teams to secure adequate resources

• Manage contracts and subcontractors

• Negotiate with customers on change requests, schedules, and priorities

• Communicate openly with customers on project issues and clarifications

• Build and maintain strong relationships with users, technical staff, and management

Leadership & Team Management

• Define project resources and conduct performance reviews

• Monitor and improve team performance through leadership and performance management

• Participate in leadership activities and provide developmental coaching

• Provide accurate information to teams on business needs and priorities

• Ensure proposals and enhancements are properly analysed and evaluated

Business Development & Pre-Sales Support

• Identify opportunities for expansion or improvement of services and liaise with Account Managers

• Participate in pre-sales activities

The ideal candidate should possess:

• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
• Typically, 6 years IT project management experience
• Experience in development, implementation, and support of IT projects in varied organizations
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong presentation skills and persuasive techniques
• Effective leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
• Self-motivated with positive can-do attitude and creativity
• Ability to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Willingness to travel as required
• Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
