Job Purpose
As a key member of the Resource Development Department at the Singapore Red Cross, you will lead the strategy, growth, and day-to-day management of our Social Enterprise retail operations at Red Cross House, the Red Cross Training Campsite, and the SDG Centre.
This is a customer-facing role centred on retail operations, volunteer coordination, and social enterprise initiatives, while also supporting logistics coordination for in-kind donations. You will play a meaningful role in transforming community contributions into sustainable humanitarian impact by delivering a positive and engaging experience for visitors, donors, and supporters.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Operations & Social Enterprise (Primary Focus)
. Oversee daily retail operations, including merchandising, stock presentation, and customer service excellence.
. Support the planning and execution of thematic sales campaigns, pop-up events, and community bazaars to drive revenue and visibility.
. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely stock replenishment.
. Ensure compliance with internal financial, procurement, and administrative policies.
. Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency.
. Prepare basic operational and sales reports to support performance tracking and decision-making.
Partnerships & Engagement
. Support outreach efforts to community partners and corporate organisations for collaborative initiatives.
. Assist in coordinating external engagement opportunities to expand awareness and visibility of the shop.
Donor-in-Kind & Logistics Support (Secondary Focus)
. Coordinate scheduling of donation collections and internal transfers.
. Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of in-kind donations.
. Liaise with internal teams for vehicle bookings and logistical arrangements.
Volunteer Coordination
. Schedule volunteers and provide on-site guidance to ensure smooth operations.
. Support volunteer engagement initiatives to foster a positive and meaningful volunteer experience.
. Collaborate closely with internal teams for effective volunteer deployment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
. Minimum GCE O Level or equivalent.
. Experience in retail, social enterprises, or non-profit environments preferred.
. Background in marketing would be advantageous.
Skills & Attributes
. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in a customer-facing
environment.
. Organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
. Basic IT proficiency, including working with computers, MS Office, and other common software applications.
. Familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, and similar tools (optional but advantageous).
. Proficient in basic administrative processes.
Work Requirements
. Able to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts.
. Willing to support extended hours during events or peak operational periods.
. Comfortable with hands-on operational responsibilities.
