Responsibilities:
Lead airport master planning, feasibility studies, and phased development strategies for complex hub airport programmes.
Provide strategic direction across airspace, airside, terminal, and landside systems, ensuring integrated airport operational performance to validate design objectives
At client's request, act as technical lead for airport transaction advisory, supporting concessions, PPPs, and investment cases through feasibility, capacity, and risk analysis.
Lead the development of business cases, economic appraisals, and investment-grade outcomes for airport and aviation projects.
Knowledgeable with transport demand modelling, GIS, and simulation software to assess capacity, operational resilience, and operational what-if scenarios.
Establish and govern the use of planning, simulation, and spatial analytics tools, integrating airport design with urban development, land transport strategies and regional mobility strategies.
Define and evolve SJ's aviation planning and simulation methodology, strengthening technical excellence and market differentiation, that would result in a stronger unique selling point for SJ in the aviation sector.
Ensure alignment with ICAO, FAA, EASA, and national aviation authority requirements of SJ client's country of origin.
Serve as technical authority across aviation projects, representing SJ in client, authority, and industry engagements while building and leading high-performing teams.
Requirements:
Degree in Aviation, Transportation, Civil Engineering, or related discipline postgraduate is qualification preferred.
5+ years of experience in aviation and airport planning within consultancy or major projects.
Strong experience in airport master planning, airside and landside planning, and airport / airspace capacity analysis.
Proven strategic leadership in the application of advanced transport planning and simulation tools (e.g. VISUM, VISSIM), aviation and airport simulation platforms (e.g. CAST, AirTOP), spatial analytics (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS), and 3D geospatial digital-twin environments (e.g. Cesium) within complex aviation programs.
Demonstrated ability to design and govern data-driven planning environments, including the use of large datasets, Python-based workflows, and spatial databases.
Experience operating in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, and client-facing consulting projects
Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel internationally as required to support projects and client engagements.
