Senior Planning Engineer

Candidate Profile

The Senior Planning Engineer will have excellent communication and influencing skills and the ability to co-ordinate diverging priorities and teams resulting in a comprehensive agreed plan which adheres to regulatory and HSE protocols. The Planning Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of programming and scheduling and be proficient in relevant software packages.

Job Purpose

To support aligned business area(s) in the achievement of their annual business objectives from a planning perspective and also the development and implementation of their longer term business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

. Leading, Coaching and establishing Work Processes / directions to the planning department.

. Develop an overall projects log / Plans to the Top Management.

. Assisting management in developing the staff allocation plan with respect to the projects starts and finish dates.

. Review and lead the methods of developing the Tender plans, Pre-construction programs / Labor Histograms .

. Reviewing and approving the Baseline Programs including EPS, OBS, WBS, Activities Links , Calendars , Authorities approvals , and making sure that the Program is fulfilling all the contractual requirements.

. Analyzing all the Detailed Planning & scheduling for various stages of the projects that involved works related to various disciplines such as Contracts, Engineering ,Procurement and Construction( Fit out Works).

. Assigning Recourses to the project, monitoring the resources allocation and taking actions if there are any conflicts or peaks.

. Developing Cost Breakdown Structure and produce the project cash flow, making sure that the project is always within the budget / Cost control.

. monitoring and controlling the overall Work progress & Contractors Performance.

. Review the progress status reports of all the contractors on board.

. Monitor and approve the monthly reports of project progress which needs to be issued from the planning Dept.

. Review & Monitor the overall Baseline Schedule & Key Dates.

. Preparation and updating of S-Curves, Resources Histogram and monthly Cash Flow.

. Managing the program's Resources Histograms, monitoring the Progress against Planned Figures and realized benefits as the program progresses.

. Take a corrective actions / preventive actions in order to avoid any delays happening in the projects.

. Highlight and raise the areas of concerns of major scope changes, ensuring that any impact on time is assessed.

. Assessing time extension requests and provide recommendations against the same.
