Job Description
Lion City Sailors Football Academy is seeking a Senior Physiologist to deliver advanced sports science and performance optimisation services within an elite professional football environment. This role requires deep expertise in applied physiology, athlete monitoring technologies, and performance data analytics to support high-performance outcomes at the professional level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of advanced physiological testing protocols (e.g. VO2 max, lactate profiling, neuromuscular assessments)
- Oversee integrated athlete monitoring systems (GPS, heart rate, wellness tracking) to optimise training load and recovery
- Provide data-driven insights to coaching staff on performance, fatigue management, and match readiness
- Collaborate with medical and technical teams on injury prevention and return-to-play frameworks
- Develop and implement periodisation strategies aligned with competitive schedules
- Produce detailed performance reports using data visualisation tools
- Support innovation initiatives in sports science and applied performance technology
Requirements
- Degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or related discipline
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in elite academies or professional football environments
- Proficiency in athlete monitoring systems
- Strong capability in data analytics tools
- Experience in evidence-based performance optimisation and load management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Effective stakeholder management with coaches and multidisciplinary teams
- Role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and match days
- Travel for overseas competitions and training camps may be required
