The Role

We are looking for an experienced generalist Senior People Advisor to join the global People Advisory team in Singapore. This role will work areas of the employee lifecycle; everything from recruitment, probation and performance management to learning & development and employee relations cases for a number of different Lines of Business (LOB). The position will be primarily working with the employees in Singapore, although this may change over time to cover other locations in APAC, such as Australia.

The ideal candidate will be organised, solutions-focused, pro-active and able to easily build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You need to be calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. You will need to be able to hit the ground running and operate both independently, but also as a team.

The role holder will play a key role in delivering a professional, credible People function that supports the management team in achieving organisational excellence in all aspects of people management.

Duties

  • Provide advice to all employees on policies and procedures, and training need solutions.
  • Coach and train line managers, upskilling and empowering them to effectively manage their people, including advising them on performance and absence management.
  • Identify and drive forward People initiatives and ensure their successful implementation, examples of this could be Induction redesign, employee engagement and wellbeing agenda or exploring People metrics.
  • Lead on all employee relations matters, including absence management, performance issues, disciplinaries, grievances and all other aspects of people management from start to finish aiming to resolve cases successfully whilst minimising risk to the business.
  • Review the monthly payroll pack provided by the People Operations team, ensuring all changes and documentation are accurately recorded, and monthly payroll cut-off deadlines are met.
  • Take responsibility for the annual performance review process, including collating the relevant information for all employees in the relevant business unit, providing information to managers and collecting it in a timely manner, advising managers throughout the process and liaising with the relevant People Lead to ensure a smooth process that meets all deadlines. Work closely with the People Lead to support on the annual compensation process.
  • Lead on delivering the Learning and Development plan, including conducting an annual learning need analysis, designing the content with trainers, scheduling training courses and coordinating the gathering of feedback. Including collaborating with the People Advisors & Managers on London led training.
  • Support the People Lead with MI reporting and other ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Lead on employee relocations and support candidates with visa applications. Other tasks include; ensuring flights and accommodation are organised, liaising with our relocation company, ensuring shipping is arranged, carrying out any right to work related activity etc.
  • Support the People Operations Team across the business, ensuring processes are accurately followed and systems are updated. Work closely with the People Advisors & Managers globally to drive key initiatives and projects to completion.
  • Complete ad hoc tasks/projects as requested.

Essential

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working at an Advisor level within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of documenting business processes (ideally People/HR related)
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comprehensive up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and collaborative skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and confidently managing People projects.
  • Ability to influence a range of personalities and manage expectations
  • Experience with database management (HRIS system)
  • An all-rounder generalist HR Professional

Desirable

  • Working towards or achieved an HR qualification
  • Experience managing and leading People projects
  • Good understanding of immigration law
