THE COMPANY
With a strong foothold in the bulk commodity market, this international trading firm specializes in coal and Iron Ore. The company is expanding its operations team in Singapore and is seeking a capable and experienced Senior Operator to support its growing trading flows.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and negotiate sales and purchase contracts with upstream suppliers and downstream buyers.
- Handle vessel nomination, vessel declaration, shipment coordination, and follow-up on operations.
- Monitor laycan schedules and manage demurrage/despatch matters.
- Prepare, review, and process trade documentation, including L/Cs, invoices, BLs, COO, and customs clearance documents.
- Liaise closely with traders, counterparties, shipping agents, surveyors, and banks to ensure smooth execution.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years operations experience in bulk commodity trading (coal/iron ore preferred).
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations (nomination, declaration, laycan, demurrage/despatch).
- Familiarity with international trade documentation and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (reading & writing).
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
