Senior Oil Trader (Location: Singapore)

As part of its continued growth, the business is seeking established oil traders with a demonstrable track record of generating P&L and managing commercial relationships across physical and/or paper markets. The firm keen to speak with successful traders from any part of the oil barrel who can bring a transferable trading franchise and profitable book of business.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a profitable trading portfolio across physical and/or derivatives markets
• Identify and capture arbitrage opportunities across regional and global energy markets
• Proven ability to generate sustainable P&L and build profitable market relationships
• Leverage and expand existing commercial relationships with producers, refiners, traders, brokers, NOCs and end-users
• Develop new trading flows, strategies and market opportunities
• Optimise trading performance through effective risk management and market analysis.
• Work closely with operations, shipping, risk and finance teams to support trade execution and portfolio growth
• Contribute to the broader growth of the trading business through entrepreneurial structuring of business flows and market insight

Requirements

• Proven track record of generating meaningful P&L within oil markets
• Existing network of counterparties and demonstrated commercial credibility
• Strong understanding of physical and paper trading dynamics
• Ability to operate independently and manage risk effectively
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ambitions to build and scale a trading franchise
• Experience trading any part of the barrel, including Fuel Oil, Naphtha, Gasoline, Distillates, LPG, Crude or related markets
