Job Description

Network Engineer (APAC)

Location: Singapore

Employment Type: Full Time

Reporting To: IT Infrastructure Manager / Head of IT

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to oversee and support the organization's network infrastructure across APAC, including Australia and New Zealand. This role will serve as the Level 3 escalation point, manage service providers, and ensure stable, secure, and high-performing network operations to support business expansion and retail store initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Support

  • Act as Level 3 escalation support for complex network incidents, service requests, and problem management.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure network infrastructure stability, security, and optimal performance across all locations.
  • Deploy periodic firmware upgrades, security patches, and configuration updates to network devices.
  • Monitor and resolve SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) alerts.

Service Provider & Vendor Management

  • Measure, manage, and review service provider performance against agreed SLAs.
  • Conduct and attend regular service review meetings.
  • Track and manage network hardware lifecycle refresh and maintenance renewals.
  • Negotiate with regional vendors across APAC (including Australia & New Zealand) to ensure cost-effectiveness and service quality.

Project & Retail Infrastructure Support

  • Collaborate with Internal IT teams and external vendors to support:
  • New store openings
  • Store relocation, renovation, and closure
  • Technology implementation projects
  • Ensure timely and smooth network deployment for business initiatives.

Infrastructure & Systems Support

  • Provide support across overall IT infrastructure including:
  • Active Directory
  • DNS
  • Network systems
  • Databases
  • Web services
  • End-user computing environments

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and network diagrams.
  • Conduct regular knowledge transfer sessions with internal teams and service providers.
  • Ensure operational processes and support documentation are standardized and accessible.

Incident Management & Availability

  • Be contactable during weekends and public holidays in the event of major incidents or outages.
  • Participate in on-call rotation where required.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in Network Engineering / IT Infrastructure roles.
  • Strong experience in enterprise-level network troubleshooting and L3 support.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies
  • SIEM monitoring and incident response
  • Network security best practices
  • Experience managing external service providers and vendor negotiations.
  • Exposure to multi-country or regional IT operations (APAC preferred).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Certifications (Advantageous)

  • CCNA / CCNP
  • ITIL Certification
  • Security-related certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP equivalent exposure)
