Senior Medical Science Liaison

We are recruiting a Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for our client, Bayer. We are particularly interested in candidates with neurology and stroke experience who can engage confidently with specialists on clinical evidence and unmet medical needs. Cardiovascular experience would be an added advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Build long-term scientific relationships with neurologists, stroke specialists, other healthcare professionals, academic centres and medical associations.
• Discuss clinical data through one-to-one meetings, small-group discussions, symposia and medical education programmes.
• Translate the local medical plan into practical thought leader engagement activities.
• Stay current with scientific research, the treatment landscape and relevant competitor developments.
• Gather insights on unmet medical needs and share them with cross-functional teams to inform medical strategy.
• Review engagement data and use the findings to refine medical activities.
• Lead or support advisory boards, symposia, continuing medical education activities and other scientific forums.
• Develop and review scientific content for different communication channels.
• Facilitate evidence generation, including investigator-initiated research, and support relevant clinical trial activities.
• Serve as an internal scientific resource, respond to medical queries in line with applicable procedures and support scientific training.
• Lead medical projects and mentor MSL colleagues, including on regional activities where required.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's or advanced degree in medicine, pharmacy, pharmacology, natural sciences or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in an MSL role or another relevant medical or pharmaceutical role involving clinical data, research or scientific engagement.
• Experience or strong therapeutic knowledge in neurology and stroke, with the ability to hold credible scientific discussions with specialists.
• The ability to interpret clinical evidence and explain complex data clearly to different audiences.
• A track record of building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience leading projects and organising scientific engagement activities.
• Confidence using digital tools to support engagement, analyse information and document medical activities.
• The independence and judgment needed to operate in a senior MSL role.
