We are representing a reputable healthcare organisation in Singapore seeking a dedicated Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to support and lead key functions within the laboratory medicine department. About the Role
In this position, you will be responsible for performing and supervising complex medical laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of diagnostic results. You will oversee daily laboratory operations, maintain quality and safety standards, support clinical teams, and provide leadership and guidance to junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform, review, and supervise medical laboratory tests across various disciplines within laboratory medicine.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely release of laboratory reports.
- Oversee daily laboratory workflows, including troubleshooting, resource planning, and providing technical guidance to staff.
- Maintain and enforce compliance with quality control, safety protocols, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure optimal operation, calibration, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health teams to support clinical decision-making and patient management.
- Lead, mentor, and contribute to the training and development of junior laboratory personnel.
- Support laboratory audits, quality improvement initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Relevant professional certifications and licenses required for medical laboratory practice in Singapore.
- Proven experience in Microbiology or Biochemistry.
- Proficient in Medical Technology, laboratory skills, and Quality Control practices.
