Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for robotic applications from proof of concept to minimum viable product and pre-series.
- Create detailed CAD models and simulations of robotic components and systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance evaluations of mechanical designs.
- Prepare and execute Product Requirements Document, Development in V-cycle or agile, Testing and Verification & Validation strategy, documentation
- Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and software components.
- Perform and lead testing and debugging of mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize 3D printing technologies for prototyping and manufacturing robotic components.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
- Develop and maintain documentation for mechanical designs and processes and maintenance
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics and mechanical engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in designing and developing mechanical systems, with a focus on robotics.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design and simulation.
- Experience with robotic simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, V-REP).
- Excellent understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and additive manufacturing.
- Certification in robotics or related fields is a plus.
