Lead and manage mechanical engineering design projects for building services, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with client requirements and local codes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and authorities to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while supervising project staff and implementing quality assurance processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules to meet client and project requirements
- Manage authority submissions and approvals by coordinating with Professional Engineers and relevant regulatory bodies
- Liaise effectively with clients, architects, quantity surveyors, and other project consultants to ensure seamless project execution
- Lead and supervise project teams to deliver engineering solutions on time and within budget
- Implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes throughout project lifecycle
- Oversee project management activities including resource allocation, time management, and progress monitoring
- Apply strong technical knowledge and proficiency in design software to develop innovative and compliant engineering designs
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to drive project success
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support business growth and operational excellence
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with eligibility for registration with the Professional Engineers Board and more than 3 years of experience in engineering design consulting for building services projects
- Professional Engineer Certification will be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of local codes and authority submission procedures
- Proven project management and supervisory skills with experience leading teams
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate design options and resolve technical challenges
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to engage stakeholders effectively
- Proficient in managing time and resources to optimize project delivery
