Senior Mechanical Engineer
Our client is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems by providing engineering support, managing equipment integrity and leading maintenance and improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical engineering and maintenance support to Operations and Project teams including development of maintenance strategies, reliability programs and preventive/predictive maintenance plans.
- Lead troubleshooting, repair, commissioning and replacement of static and rotating mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels and piping systems.
- Manage in-house contractors and vendors to ensure safe execution of mechanical works while maintaining operational reliability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and company standards for all modified or newly installed mechanical systems including marine loading arms, safety devices and other critical equipment.
- Oversee statutory inspections and maintenance of equipment such as lifting machines, pressure vessels and safety valves according to compliance standards.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures, recommend corrective actions, and implement predictive maintenance strategies using analysis such as vibration, RT, UT, and oil testing.
- Maintain historical and operational data on mechanical systems, track equipment performance and support engineering documentation management and compliance reviews.
- Lead and coordinate mechanical projects including end-of-life and improvement initiatives, ensuring proper stakeholder engagement, MOC adherence, scheduling and budget management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance and operation of mechanical equipment including rotating machinery and static systems, preferably in oil/petrochemical or related industries.
- Hands-on experience with compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, hydraulic components and piping systems.
- Knowledge of in-service pipeline inspections, industry codes, regulations and standards - certifications in API, vibration and other analysis standards will be an added advantage.
- Professional engineering accreditations and/or memberships in relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
