Job Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Marketing Executive (Editorial) to lead impactful storytelling and editorial content creation that amplifies the mission and humanitarian efforts of the Singapore Red Cross (SRC). This role is central in shaping SRC's voice through compelling narratives, speeches, campaigns, and stories that connect with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Storytelling & Editorial Content

  • Develop and execute editorial and communication strategies to highlight SRC's humanitarian initiatives and services.
  • Research, write, edit and publish high-quality stories, speeches, features, and articles that showcase the impact of SRC's programmes, staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Craft authentic narratives for multiple platforms (website, newsletters, media, exhibitions, campaigns, social media).
  • Provide editorial oversight and copywriting support for departments across SRC.

Volunteer Editorial Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of volunteer writers.
  • Guide them in journalistic writing, interviewing and content development techniques.
  • Oversee assignments and deadlines to ensure a steady stream of impactful stories.
  • Conduct editorial skills training to build capacity within the volunteer base.

Brand & Editorial Standards

  • Maintain and enforce SRC's brand integrity by ensuring compliance with emblem protection standards, adhering to established SOPs, and managing proper usage of branding elements, including the implementation of new logo guidelines.
  • Act as a custodian of corporate identity by maintaining and updating corporate identity guidelines and templates.

Project Management & Quality Assurance

  • Manage the end-to-end editorial workflow from ideation to publication.
  • Uphold high standards of accuracy, grammar, storytelling and tone of voice.
  • Monitor timelines, approvals and delivery of written content to meet campaign and project deadlines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 5 years experience in editorial writing, journalism, or communications.
  • Proven ability to produce impactful editorial content for diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, with a second language (Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil) an advantage.
  • Strong background in content creation, editorial planning, and writing for impact.
  • Experience in NGOs, NPOs, or charities will be an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace & Microsoft Suite.
  • Familiar with social media and new media content creation.
  • Ability to leverage AI writing and creative tools effectively.
  • Understanding of the nonprofit/humanitarian sector preferred.
