Senior Maritime Consultant/Project Director

Haskoning Singapore Pte. Ltd. provides consultancy services across various engineering disciplines through our business lines: Water & Maritime (W&M), Industry & Buildings (I&B) and Mobility & Infrastructure (M&I). The Business Line Water & Maritime is recruiting for a Senior Maritime Consultant / Project Director specialized in port strategy, planning and development for projects in Singapore and across the broader Asia-Pacific region.

With the growing order portfolio of maritime services in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, the Business Line Water & Maritime wishes to hire a Senior Maritime Consultant / Project Director to help grow the business and deliver high-quality projects. This person is to have extensive experience in the maritime sector, and have experience in delivering large and complex projects. The Senior Maritime Consultant / Project Director will report to the Director Advisory Group.

What will you do

The role's responsibility is to provide senior expertise on port strategy, planning and development as well as having a role in the technical feasibilities studies and design services related to Haskoning's maritime projects. This includes the interaction with multi-disciplinary project teams (with members in various countries), ensuring the quality and planning are met according to the client's expectations, and providing knowledge transfer of maritime sector transformation issues.

The Senior Maritime Consultant / Project Director is expected to successfully:

• Show thought leadership in his/her field of expertise.
• Show specific port strategy, planning and development experience (port & terminal planning, familiarity with green port and maritime decarbonization, technical due diligence).
• Provide top level consultancy services, and take overall responsibility for project delivery.
• Provide technical guidance to the multi-disciplinary sub-project teams and junior staff.
• Monitor the quality, planning and budget of the project components under his/her responsibility.
  
  

Where you will work

The Senior Maritime Consultant / Project Director will be based in Singapore. However, the position may require short-term travel and a flexible attitude is expected of the candidate on other tasks, such as business development activities, that may come up next to the core responsibilities of the role.

What you bring

• More than 20 years of relevant experience in managing maritime-related projects, supported by strong domain knowledge.
• Ability to combine domain knowledge with leadership skills to lead multi-disciplinary maritime projects across multiple countries in Asia-Pacific.
• International experience, particularly in Asia, is essential.
• Proficiency in English is a must.
• Ideally residing in Singapore with valid working rights; an employment pass will be considered for the right candidate.
