Job Purpose Summary:
The incumbent will assist in developing and managing relationships with Financial Institutions and strengthening Correspondent Banking relationships by fostering new correspondent banking alliances within their assigned area. Provides support to the Relationship Manager in servicing corporate clients, including but not limited to credit and deposit services, international transactions, and other specialized services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of the strategies and plans to achieve all volume, revenue and profit targets.
- Support the VP (FI RM) to develop and manage relationships with correspondent banks as well as Head Office and other QNB international branches.
- Work alongside Treasury in reviewing relationships with counterparty banks and persevere to influence them in enhancing their scope of business with QNB.
- Arrange to open/close accounts of other Financial Institutions (FIs) by compiling the requisite documentations and following QNB procedures.
- Actively monitor the handling of day-to-day operational issues while servicing the counterparties and coordinating with the related division in the Bank to resolve any outstanding issues or queries.
- To assist customers in all their queries on Bank's product and seek solutions to their requests.
- Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors, compliance, finance and risk functions as and when required.
- Identify and timely report on all negative events and early signals on potential accounts issues and assist in conducting annual reviews of FIs on timely basis.
- Assist in undertaking specific FI projects as and when assigned.
Education / Experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Finance, Banking, Economics and/or Business-related studies.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in the banking industry, preferably with FI experience.
- Good knowledge and up to date market competitive structure, industry practices and regulations for the FIs and correspondent banking segment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent people relationship skills and awareness of risk management concepts and practices.
- Organized, structured and is a problem-solver.
