Senior Manager, Procurement (Public Service)

Our client, a respected organisation with a strong public mission, is looking for a seasoned Procurement Leader to take charge of contract management, strategic sourcing, budgeting, and digital procurement transformation. This is a leadership role for a proactive professional who can shape procurement policies, mentor teams, and deliver measurable value.
Your Impact
- Lead a centralised procurement function, ensuring processes align with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and oversee contract renewals, maintaining an up-to-date contract register and ensuring compliance.
- Develop and implement forward-looking procurement strategies and policies that drive efficiency and value.
- Analyse and review procurement data and vendor performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and report insights to management.
- Stay ahead of market trends to guide competitive sourcing and strategic vendor decisions.
- Take ownership of procurement budgeting, forecasting, and support audit requirements.
- Champion the implementation of e-procurement systems and drive continuous process improvements across the function.
- Mentor, develop, and guide the procurement team, fostering a culture of performance, innovation, and collaboration.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of relevant procurement experience, with a strong track record in team leadership and performance management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 Materials Management is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of government procurement policies
- Proven experience in e-procurement implementation and a strong grasp of digital procurement platforms and tools.
- Confident in presenting and training internal stakeholders, including senior management, on procurement processes and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills-able to translate complex procurement challenges into actionable solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
