Job Description

1. Job Summary

The jobholder (2-year contract) supports the Future Ready department in its efforts to help youth in post-secondary education become resilient and future ready. The job holder is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the mentoring programmes and initiatives. The job holder is required to oversee the secretariat duties for M3 Focus Area 3 (FA3) and lead the Youth Mentoring Office to achieve the outcomes of FA3.

The job holder is expected to work from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and may be required to work over weekends, weeknights and public holidays to support organisation events. Although the jobholder is largely expected to work in an indoor environment, he/she is also expected to travel where necessary for meetings and activities.

2. Key Responsibility Areas

a. Strategic and Partnership Management

1) Keep abreast of employment and employability issues and trends for Malay Muslim youth at community, national and global levels.

2) Work with partners and stakeholders including M3 Towns, CLF partners and schools in implementing mentoring programmes.

3) Oversee the FA3 Secretariat duties including liaising with FA3 Chairman and partners to ensure strategic alignment and delivery of outcomes.

4) Support the department in representing the organisation in joint committees and contribute to nation-wide initiatives.

5) Support the department in identifying and networking with potential and existing partners.

b. Programme Development and Management

1) Lead the team to plan and implement #amPowered mentoring programmes.

2) Lead the organisation of resources, manpower and collaterals for the successful delivery of programmes.

3) Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes through the collection and analysis of feedback.

4) Conduct reviews of programmes and recommend areas of improvement or adaptation to suit the needs of youth.

c. Team Leadership and Management

1) Set goals and performance standards for direct reports.

2) Mentor direct reports and provide feedback to support their personal and professional development.

3) Conduct workforce planning and identify manpower needs.

4) Lead the department's forecasting and budgeting activities.

5) Oversee the implementation budget plans to manage resource allocations to department's programmes.

6) Monitor department budget outcomes to ensure proper utilisation and accounting of resources.

d. Others

1) Any other duties as assigned by the HOD.

3. Requirements

. 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience preferred.

. Supervisory experience required.

. Relevant degree from a recognised institution preferred.

. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders across different levels.

. Meticulous and detail oriented.

. Possess strong leadership skills and sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.

. Able to work independently and within a team.

. Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
