About the Role

We are seeking an experienced in-House Legal & Compliance Lawyer to join our Singapore office and support the company's global compliance and legal operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the organisation's activities adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across multiple jurisdictions, while enabling commercial objectives through sound legal risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Advisory & Risk Management

  • Advise senior management and business units on compliance with laws and regulations including anti-bribery, sanctions, data privacy, competition, trade controls, and corporate governance.
  • Develop practical, business-oriented solutions to mitigate compliance risks.

Policy Development & Implementation

  • Draft, update, and implement compliance policies and standard operating procedures in line with global and local requirements.
  • Lead or support compliance initiatives such as anti-corruption programs, competition law frameworks, and conflicts-of-interest management.
  • Oversee compliance integration across subsidiaries, joint ventures, and project entities.

Training & Awareness

  • Design and deliver compliance training to employees across functions and business groups.
  • Promote a culture of integrity and ethical conduct within the organisation.

Monitoring, Reporting & Investigations

  • Conduct internal reviews and compliance audits; coordinate with internal audit and external counsel as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal audit/HR on investigations relating to potential compliance breaches, ensuring proper documentation and remediation.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports and compliance dashboards for management.

Regulatory Engagement & Legal Support

  • Support corporate transactions, contracts, and other legal work requiring compliance input.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments in Singapore and relevant jurisdictions, advising on implications for the business.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.); admission to the Singapore Bar or another common law jurisdiction preferred.
  • 10-15 years PQE, ideally with exposure to both law firm and in-house environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Singapore laws and international compliance frameworks (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act, PDPA, GDPR).
  • Demonstrated experience in designing or managing corporate compliance programs.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and collaboratively across technical, legal and operational teams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
