As Senior Engineering Manager, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) for the Global Facilities Engineering team at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible to lead the Multi-Discipline Engineering team and providing engineering system ownership and technical support for the various Micron Semiconductor Manufacturing Sites in the United States and Asia. In this role, your Engineering team will support the Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams through all phases of Site Projects and Sustaining activities for Engineering & Design, Construction, installation, start-up, Operations and Maintenance, with focus and emphasis on Global Standardisation and Alignment, Innovation, Reliability and Performance, and Sustainability.
Lead and Manage Multi-Discipline Engineering Team
Provide expert understanding of Semiconductor Facilities Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C System Engineering Technical Domain, including Engineering, Design, Construction, Operational, and Maintenance capabilities, to lead the Engineering team and provide critical support to Micron Site Network
Technically led the Multi-Discipline Engineering team, focused on strategic and operational excellence
Support building a skilled, strategic Engineering team for Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and other subject areas (including for recruitment, training, staffing, and retention)
Invest time in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members career paths
Drive team engagement, inspiring and motivating the team to do their best and achieve daring goals
Provide leadership on Global Facilities initiatives, providing transparency and line of sight for the Engineering team
Assist the Director in building a coordinated strategic plan, including driving innovation and ground-breaking initiatives.
Support the network effort to implement, monitor and drive continuous improvement for the success of Micron's strategic programs and initiatives
Identify, manage and monitor key performance indicators for the department. Set Facility Engineering goals based on Global Network priorities and facilities areas of focus and direction to the department
Provide technical advice and support to overcome challenges and roadblocks in project planning & execution
Lead Multi-Discipline Engineering for Large-scale Greenfield FAB Design and Construction projects in the U.S. and Asia.
Supervise the discipline-related activities for planning, execution, and completion of U.S. and Asia Greenfield FAB Design and Construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Collaborate with the entire Project team, including Global and Regional Facilities, Site Facilities, Construction, Procurement, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Layout and Planning, and other internal and external collaborators
Establish and maintain best-in-class Engineering and Construction practices, focusing on innovation, efficiency and Sustainability.
Drive Engineering and Construction cost management initiatives and ensure financial accountability in all construction activities.
Ensure that the project scope, schedule, and cost meet the customer, requester, and project needs
Ensure appropriate communication and collaboration with Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and Manufacturing partners, to deliver project objectives and results.
Perform a timely review of design packages and provide documented comments and feedback as necessary.
Ensure designs comply with all standards, codes, and regulations
Supervise progress and provide Engineering and Design support during construction projects
Provide support for project cost and schedule estimates and justification for approval
Provide supervision and coordination of Consultant resources
Collaborate with Stakeholders, Partners, and Global Network Sites on Multi-Discipline related topics
Initiate and sustain effective communication with team members, partners, and collaborators (top-down)
Share updates back to the Director, Engineering Leadership Teams, and Engineering Teams (bottom-up)
Advance issues, offering options and recommendations for resolution
Communicate strategic department goals, project execution plans, programs and initiatives, and targets
Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions.
Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Lead the Multi-Discipline Engineering team to provide consultation and support to Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams as the Technical Field Domain Expert.
Collaborate with internal partners and collaborators, including the Technology Development Team, Procurement, Finance, Legal, etc.
Analyse system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savings
Support sites with technical problem analysis and problem solving using standard tools and methodologies as requested
Benchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering Best Practices and Best Known Methods (BKM) of Facilities buildings, and systems
Maintain technical knowledge domain expertise on your respective subject area, including Industry Standards and Best Practices, Trends and Technological advances, emerging technology roadmap, Design Innovations, Sustainability, Digitalisation, etc.
Provide Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Support the Micron Global, Regional, and Site Design and Construction project teams in the Engineering and Design development for the Greenfield FAB Design and Construction projects
Review and provide feedback/lessons learned/support of the Micron Global Design and Construction Standards and Construction Specifications, with focus and emphasis on Engineering Design and Construction of your respective systems.
Review and provide feedback/lessons learned/support of the system design concepts for your respective field systems to be deployed into the Design and Construction Projects
Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends across the network, and validate utilisation and diversity factor assumptions
Participate and/or lead capacity and scenario planning across the network, including evaluation of system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes
Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for Facilities infrastructure additions or modifications
Provide Global Initiatives Program Support, Leadership, and Expertise
Support, review, and provide feedback/lessons learned of the Micron Global Best Known Methods (BKM) documents with focus and emphasis on Operations and Maintenance Reliability and/or Performance
Support, review, and provide feedback/lessons learned of the Global Facilities Programs & Initiatives, including for program implementation and execution
Support the Global Facilities Sustainability Programs in support of Micron's Corporate Sustainability goals and initiatives, including for program implementation and execution
Support, review, and provide feedback on the Lessons Learned from Micron Global, Regional, and Site teams that will be incorporated into the Micron Global Standards and BKMs
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering required
Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience in the Semiconductor and/or Facilities-related industry
Technical expertise, knowledge, and experience on Facilities and Semiconductor Mechanical, Process, Electrical, and I&C Systems
Ability to build and lead teams, develop people and their career growth, and focus the team on driving to meet strategic objectives
Ability to prioritise and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrently
Good organisational skills and Service demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal skills and good teamwork skills
Self-motivated worker
Familiarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing and Facilities systems
Ability to travel 50-60% of the time or more, to the Micron network sites and FAB Construction project locations, including during Critical Project phases or Site Activities
