About The Team
This role will be a key member of the Airwallex Group Financial Controllership team. You will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of the Group financial reporting. You shall own the accounting for complicated accounting aspects, including supporting group audit and monthly regional meetings with FP&A. You will closely collaborate with our FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Product Finance and Shared Service Centre teams and lead our efforts to continuously improve reporting processes . You support the investigation of technical accounting topics and share relevant guidance in the region (ie: for when we launch a new product). Your role will be a combination of recurring group finance tasks and project based initiatives to continuously improve the controllership team within Airwallex
Responsibilities:
Own the financial control procedures on our monthly and quarterly group reporting processes including the review of regional financial data
Perform quarterly group consolidation activities for within the reporting deadline set
Support project to expand our US GAAP reporting framework and develop internal accounting guidance to ensure accuracy and consistency in our reporting.
Drive a wide range of improvement projects for the Controllership team within Airwallex, these projects may include 1) Enabling new products in our reporting structure 2) Business partnering with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Compliance and Legal, People & Talent 3) PCAOB and SOX compliance framework.
Any process improvement to that will help Airwallex's controllership function to grow and mature to the next level!
Close collaboration and interaction with our regional finance teams to continuously improve the financial control and quality on the financial reporting deliverables
Working closely with and supporting fund raising processes and yearly financial audit requirements
Closely collaborate with product or business teams that require finance support on new product developments
Close collaboration with other finance teams on department wide projects and change management
Responsibilities of the role may develop over time.
What you bring:
Minimum 9 years of finance experience, Big Four experience is advantageous
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, US CPA or equivalent qualification is a must
Strong understanding of financial services, fintech or tech businesses with a background working for a Nasdaq or NYSE listed company is preferred
Extensive experience minimum 4+ years in a (Group) financial controlling role and proven track record of building and expanding these capabilities within an organization.
US GAAP accounting standards knowledge is a must
Proven experiencing in managing complex, local or international projects focused on process improvement initiatives
Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills to deliver impact in a hyper growth environment
