Senior Network Strategy Position

Location: Singapore

Employment Type: Full-Time

Our client is a next-generation digital infrastructure platform committed to sustainable practices and operational excellence. The company develops and operates scalable, carrier-neutral data centers for hyperscale and enterprise customers across Asia.

Role Overview

The Network Strategy function is responsible for shaping and executing the company's network and connectivity strategy across its data center portfolio, combining technical expertise with commercial and market-driven objectives.

This role leads fiber infrastructure planning, carrier ecosystem development, and interconnection strategy while supporting data center development projects and customer connectivity solutions.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the position identifies opportunities to enhance network capabilities, expand connectivity ecosystems, and develop scalable, revenue-generating connectivity products and services. It plays a critical role in aligning network investments with business growth objectives, customer requirements, and market demand.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support data center build-outs, expansions, and migrations.
  • Collaborate closely with data center operations, cloud, design & construction, and security teams.
  • Lead PoP room design and integrate connectivity requirements into the Basis of Design (BoD).

Connectivity Product Strategy

  • Define the overall connectivity product strategy at both regional and site levels.
  • Determine service offerings, including:
  • Cross-connects
  • Internet connectivity services
  • Standard and bespoke customer solutions
  • Establish certification, technical, and operational requirements for service delivery.
  • Develop commercial frameworks, including revenue and cost models.

Fiber & Network Infrastructure Planning

  • Lead fiber route planning for prospective and existing sites, including desktop route surveys.
  • Drive engineering planning activities with fiber infrastructure providers.
  • Ensure route diversity and resilience within interconnection designs.

Carrier & Partner Management

  • Develop carrier strategies and ecosystem targets for each site.
  • Manage onboarding activities for fiber and telecommunications service providers, including international carriers.
  • Negotiate and manage site-specific carrier agreements.

Market & Opportunity Analysis

  • Conduct metro-level connectivity analysis to identify underserved areas and connectivity gaps.
  • Assess market requirements by use case and define value-added services to address customer needs.

Regulatory & Licensing

  • Review telecommunications regulatory requirements across operating markets.
  • Develop and execute regulatory strategies, including telecom licensing and compliance initiatives.

Deal & Commercial Support

  • Provide network design expertise and technical input during RFP and bid processes.
  • Support customer solution development, including fiber route diversity and interconnection requirements.
  • Partner with commercial teams to strengthen deal positioning and customer value propositions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8-12+ years of experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of submarine cable ecosystems, including tracking new cable system developments and identifying strategic opportunities for data center connectivity.
  • Strong knowledge of Internet Exchanges (IXs) and Cloud Exchanges across Asia Pacific.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale cloud provider Availability Zone deployments across the region.
  • Ability to collaborate with investment and development teams to evaluate new market entry opportunities and site selection strategies.
  • Strong expertise in data center network architecture.
  • Experience in fiber planning, carrier management, and multi-site infrastructure deployments is preferred.
  • Exposure to connectivity strategy, product development, or commercial support functions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications regulations and licensing frameworks across APAC is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Commercially minded with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
