Get to Know the Team

As the Head of Strategy, you will be the primary architect of our business unit's strategic direction. You will define and shape the critical problem statements that determine where the organization invests its capital, talent, and operational focus.

Get to Know the Role

The Strategy function drives strategic coherence across Product, Technology, Commercial, and Operations teams, ensuring that local initiatives ladder up to a focused global strategy. As the steward of global optima, you will help the organization make disciplined strategic choices that maximize long-term competitive advantage rather than optimize for fragmented local wins.

This role requires a rare combination of strategic rigor, commercial instinct, systems thinking, and operational influence.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

1. Define Strategic Problems & Generate Hypotheses

  • Drive a company-wide shift from broad thematic planning to precise, high-impact problem solving.
  • Translate ambiguous business opportunities into clearly defined strategic problem statements with measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure every strategic initiative is anchored in a clear and testable hypothesis.
  • Partner closely with Product, Analytics, Commercial, and Technology leaders to connect business intuition with data-driven insights.
  • Anticipate emerging market shifts, customer behaviors, and competitive dynamics before they become obvious to the broader organization.

2. Drive Strategic Integration & Prioritization

  • Maintain an integrated view of all major strategic initiatives across functions, markets, and leadership teams.
  • Align senior leadership around the company's highest-priority strategic bets and ensure consistent focus on the top 3 to 5 org-wide priorities.
  • Establish clarity around strategic trade-offs and organizational choices, including explicitly identifying initiatives that fall outside the current strategic focus.
  • Identify misaligned, duplicative, or under-defined initiatives and proactively drive resolution with stakeholders.

3. Enable Execution Excellence

  • Define decision-making frameworks and governance mechanisms that accelerate high-quality execution.
  • Establish clear accountability structures, including identifying the Recommender (R) and decision owners for key strategic initiatives.
  • Partner deeply with functional experts while maintaining a strong org-wide perspective for executive stakeholders.
  • Translate strategy into actionable operating plans, ensuring alignment between long-term direction and near-term execution.
  • Act as a thought partner to the executive leadership team on critical business, product, market, and organizational decisions.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • A minimum of 10-12 years in strategy or management consulting, including at least 5 years of leadership experience within high-growth in fast-paced organizations.
  • Global Optima Problem Solving: This is the most critical competency. You must excel at framing problems with clear hypotheses and anticipating opportunities well ahead of the curve.
  • Expert-level command of decision-making frameworks and the ability to instill these habits in others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with teammates and leaders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Adaptability and resilience in dealing with change and ambiguity.
  • Ability to turn raw data into a How Might We statement that drives actual business results.
  • A reputation for building deep trust with C-suite executives and cross-functional heads alike.
  • A track record of anticipating industry developments ahead of the curve and pivoting organizational focus accordingly.
